Crews put out fire burning near homes in Redwood City

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (KGO) -- Fire crews are watching for hot spots from a brush fire that was burning near homes on Goodwin Avenue in Redwood City.

The fire broke out in a wooded area about 2:45 p.m. People reported seeing smoke from several miles away.

CAL FIRE did aerial retardant drops to help quickly put out the fire.
