Janelle Monae at Stern Grove tops weekend events in San Francisco
Dancers suspended from the sky and an R&B queen singing to you in the woods -- Hoodline has the best entertainment money CAN'T buy.

SAN FRANCISCO -- The weekend is just around the corner. Looking for something fun to do? We've partnered with the team at Hoodline - the hyperlocal neighborhood website, to help you plan your weekend.

Dancers suspended from the sky and an R&B queen singing to you in the woods -- Hoodline has the best entertainment money CAN'T buy.

You can hear Janelle Monae Sunday at Stern Grove Festival. She's kicking off the free summer concert series.

The free seats are first-come, first-served. Janelle is very popular so you're going to want to reserve a spot.

There's only one way to guarantee a spot. Sunday's 2 p.m. concert is a fundraiser for Stern Grove, so $250 will score you a reserved seat.

Stern Grove is not like seeing a show at an arena. You're outdoors and trees are above you.

Coming up this summer -- George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic and the San Francisco Symphony.

Another great free event -- amazing vertical dancers from a group called BANDALOOP.

In the final product, art submitted by the public will be projected onto a building at UC Hastings at 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The group SF Public Canvas is trying to tell a story about the evolving Central Market and Tenderloin area.
