For a brief time, the third season of Netflix's House of Cards was available for instant streaming -- two weeks ahead of schedule.

Netflix users across the country quickly took to Twitter, spreading the unexpected surprise to many of the show's fans.

However, the third season, which is due Feb. 27 on the streaming service, was quickly pulled after Netflix discovered it became available too early. The House of Card's Twitter account made light of the leak, though many Twitter users expressed both disappointment for having to wait, and doubt that it was an accident:

Even the parody Twitter account, @RepUnderwoodSC, which feigns to be the fictional Congressman Frank Underwood seem to suggest the leak was a marketing stunt.

Netflix spokesperson Katie Urban said, in a statement, that the leak was caused by a technical glitch.
