Legion of Honor reveals true color of ancient Greek sculptures

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Forget everything you thought you knew about ancient Greek sculptures.

Those pristine, white statues we all saw in our history books were actually colorfully painted.

The findings actually shocked some researchers and historians when it was revealed.

A new exhibit at San Francisco's Legion of Honor has 40 recreated antiquities that has been painted to their original state.
