Oscar final touch-ups, preparations underway
With the 87th Oscars just hours away, crews are working on final touch-ups before the stars arrive on Sunday.

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES -- With the 87th Oscars just hours away, crews are working on final touch-ups before the stars arrive on Sunday.

It's been a mad rush to make sure everything is golden for the big night, but some wet weather could put a damper on the stars' highly-anticipated walk down the red carpet.

Scattered, patchy showers began falling over some parts of Southern California early Sunday morning, thankfully missing Hollywood - at least for now. Drizzly conditions were expected to stick around throughout the day, with the rain likely to pick up steam toward the evening.

Workers peeled the protective plastic off of the iconic red carpet and vacuumed it overnight, but large tents were put in place overhead to make sure the celebs stay dry as they make their way into the Dolby Theatre.

Crews have been working non-stop through the week to transform Hollywood Boulevard for the big day - from setting up bleachers, decking out the red carpet walkway, installing lights and the giant golden Oscar statues. Of course, this means major road closures and restrictions for the area.
