SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Indiana Governor Mike Pence signed an amended version of the state's Religious Freedom Act, which he signed into law just last week.

The new version, passed by state legislators on Thursday, prohibits service providers from using the law as a legal defense for refusing to provide services, goods, facilities or accommodations.

It also bars discrimination based on factors that include race, religion, sexual orientation and gender identity.

The original law was widely condemned as discriminatory against gays and lesbians.

The CEO of Salesforce didn't wait for the changes. He's helping his employees who are uncomfortable with the law to relocate our of Indiana.

Marc Benioff says he's agreed to several transfers and has even supplied relocation packages.

Salesforce is a cloud computing company based in San Francisco, with offices in Indiana.

Benioff did acknowledge that Salesforce won't completely pull out of Indiana, given the size of the company's operations in that state.
