SANTA ROSA, Calif. (KGO) -- Dozens of families in Santa Rosa are now looking for new places to live. The city ordered them out on Tuesday because of toxic mold and a rat infestation in their apartments.
Francisco Sanchez is one of the residents that were told to leave. He says he and his family all got sick at the Bennett Valley Townhomes on Hoen Avenue.
Sanchez says they have been complaining to management for a year but nothing has been done.
"They never take care of our problems at the apartments because it's not a good condition to live, not a healthy place," Sanchez says.
He says he isn't sure where he's going to go now.
Property owners have given them $2,000 to relocate, but they're fighting in court for more money.
ABC7 News contacted the owner and property manager but they have not returned any phone calls.
