Ongpin, a longtime Filipino restaurant in South San Francisco, will be serving its last meals on Sunday after more than three decades in business, employees tell ABC7 Eyewitness News.
"For us, it's about history, or herstory, and really uplifting that for our collective consciousness to have that knowledge and awareness that we have been here, we have been here for over 435 years."
Señor Sisig's new location at the Ferry Building has only been open for three days and it's already making a splash with long lines.
With fans, generators and a whole lot of shaved ice at the ready, the near triple-digit heat didn't keep people from enjoying Antioch's Multicultural Festival on Saturday, which celebrated the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
The restaurant posted on Instagram: "Although Jun would want us to keep it moving and keep it pushing ... we find ourselves lost without him."
"Without these kits and without the support of the community, restaurants are in a dire place right now," said the co-owner of Prubechu'
