SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (KGO) -- Two bears cared for over four months in Tahoe were released back into the wild Thursday.
ABC7 News has covered "Hoopa" and "Salyer" back in January. The pair arrived last December severely underweight. Salyer arrived on Dec. 24, 2014 and was only 24 pounds. Hoopa arrived on Dec. 31, 2014 and was 20 pounds.
Other than shedding their outer layer of fur, both cubs looked great. Both bears gained 48 pounds during their stay with Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care.
