SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- President Donald Trump tweeted a mock video showing him pummeling a man in a suit with his face obscured by the CNN logo.

The video was posted from Trump's official Twitter account.

President Trump's supporters say they elected a fighter, so the video doesn't bother them.

"He's doing what we sent him to do, and if he can have fun with it, more power to him," San Francisco Hispanic Republican Chairman Leo Lacayo told ABC7.

Lacayo says the tweet isn't a threat to the freedom of the press. "All of this is taken out of context, it's humor and it's injected and that's the way a modern president works," Lacayo said.

The only context Mr. Trump provided to the clip was two hashtags - "FraudNewsCNN" and "FNN."

CNN responded with a statement that reads in part it is a sad day when the President of the United States encourages violence against reporters.

Sunday's tweet follows president trump's attack of the MSNBC "Morning Joe" co-hosts last week.

On ABC's This Week, Ana Navarro says America can't stand for this. "This is just going way too far. The President of the United States is inciting violence against the free press. America can't stand for it," Navarro said.

Previously planned impeachment marches took place around the country Sunday. Several hundred people gathered in San Francisco.

"It's just insane what he's doing to this country," San Francisco resident Jordan Figueiredo said.

Figueiredo calls President Trump the master distractor. "He's really defaming the office, like he doesn't care about the office at all. Whatever he does is just about himself. He's really not a public servant and he's supposed to be serving the public and he's not."
