Sex offender grabs girl from parents in Berkeley

BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- A registered sex offender faces several charges after police say he tried to grab a girl from her parents near UC Berkeley.

Two campus officers say they witnessed Lew Olive attack the girl along Bancroft Way on Saturday.

They say he tried to pull the girl from her father, and the force of the struggle lifted her at least two feet off the ground.

Officers then fought with Olive as they rescued the girl. He is in jail.
