Takeaway of the Day

We have had a few wet spots today, mainly in the North Bay where light showers developed overnight and continued in scattered fashion through the morning hours.

Today has also been relatively cool and humid, even 'muggy.' The highest inland temperatures so far have reached only into the lower 70s. So, as a result of the showers, increasing humidity, and cool temperature range, we are actually experiencing low fire danger across the Bay Area. That is welcome news in a month known for wildfire potential.

The Look Ahead

Our weather pattern for the week ahead can be best characterized as unsettled. A cold front is currently approaching the Bay Area and will continue moving through the region tomorrow. As a result, there is a chance of light showers lingering into tomorrow morning and perhaps even later in the day.

Behind the front, we can expect a colder air mass to settle in tomorrow night, producing rather chilly conditions overnight into Tuesday.

Following a mostly sunny and dry break on Tuesday. the remainder of the week ahead will be unsettled -- characterized by increasing clouds, seasonally cool temperatures, and slight chances of showers.
