2.1 earthquake strikes near San Jose

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.1 struck at about 4:30 a.m. today near San Jose. According to the USGS, the earthquake had a depth of about 1.2 miles and was centered 5 miles north-northeast of Alum Rock and 5 miles northeast of San Jose City Hall.
