Orson on a sundae
Vanilla sherbet, chocolate- banana caramel sauce, salted spanish peanuts, cherries
For the Vanilla Sherbet:
- 3 C. milk
- 1 C. cream
- 1/2 C. corn syrup
- 1 ea. vanilla bean or 1 t. vanilla extract
- Pinch salt
Combine corn syrup and milk and vanilla bean in saucepan and bring just to a boil.
Steep vanilla for 5 minutes.
Strain and add cold cram and salt.
Chill and freeze in ice cream machine.
For the Chocolate-Banana Caramel Sauce:
- 1/2 C. sugar
- 2 TB. water
- Squeeze lemon juice
- 1 C. cream
- 1/2 ea. banana
- 4 oz. bittersweet chocolate
Combine the sugar, water and lemon juice and caramelize to dark amber.
Add the bananas and cream off of heat.
Whisk to combine.
Add chocolate and set aside for 5 minutes.
Stir to combine.
Cool and puree in blender.
For the Sundae:
Spoon some of the chocolate -banana caramel sauce on flat serving bowls.
Scoop out some of the vanilla sherbet on each bowl and smash like a smashed snowball.
Garnish with salted spanish peanuts and fresh or brandied cherries.

Donate. Nearly 50% of MOWSF's funding comes from private sources such as individual donations. And 82 cents of every dollar goes directly to delivering meals and services to seniors.
Volunteer.You can volunteer to stop in and visit with a senior on a regular basis; you can shop for groceries for a senior; you can be part of their PetPal program, delivering pet food and supplies to seniors with animal companions; you can volunteer to help with special holiday events - volunteers are an integral part of the organization.
Buy a raffle ticket! $50 will feed a senior for a week, and it will also get you a chance at winning a lease on a brand-new BMW, courtesy of BMW of San Francisco.
