San Jose Police search for "big bad boys"

June 27, 2008 6:11:30 AM PDT
Police in San Jose are trying to track down a gang of thieves who have burglarized more than two dozen South Bay businesses since May, sometimes breaking in with their bare hands. Officers even have a nickname for them, "the big bad boys."

Police describe the suspects as big, broad-shouldered men, wearing hoods. The men have burglarized pizzerias, sandwich shops, beauty salons, as well as mom and pop stores. They always strike in the early morning hours and mostly businesses on strip malls near or around Capitol Expressway.

The burglars look for business with weak locks that they often rip open with their bare hands. They generally only steal cash.

The best advice for businesses in the area is to use better locks, surveillance cameras and lighting.

If you have any information on "the big bad boys," the San Jose Police would like to hear from you.
