Sheriff's Lt. Ray Lunny said a person reported seeing a mountain lion sitting on a hillside adjacent to a physical education building at the college around 5:30 p.m.
The witness said the animal sat on the hillside for several minutes, then walked away toward Farm Hill Boulevard.
Local authorities were not able to verify the sighting but notified the state Department of Fish and Game of the report, Lunny said.
