Academy receives green building award

The U.S. Green Building Council presented the academy with an official plaque representing the highest honor in its LEED program, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

The plaque represents an LEED Platinum rating for the museum.

The academy is now the largest public LEED Platinum building in the world. It also has the distinction of being the world's greenest museum.
