Crews arrived just before 3 a.m. to find the building engulfed in flames. It took fire fighters from the City of Oakland and Alameda County around two hours to bring it under control.
The facility is located just off the Webster Tube near the old naval air station.
The official cause of the fire has not been determined. Crews were called out to the same address earlier in the evening to extinguish some burning newspapers.
