In an undercover investigation aided by the FBI and members of the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety, agents determined that Recendez was connected to a larger drug trafficking organization and to several members within it, Marziano reported. Agents infiltrated the operation over several months and reported buying more than 2 kilos of cocaine from various traffickers.

A final transaction Thursday culminated in a bust of the drug operations, with drug seizures, search warrants and arrests reportedly carried out throughout Sonoma County.

The task force reported seizing 28 ounces of cocaine, 44 pounds of processed marijuana, 196 pot plants, three firearms and approximately $15,000 in cash.

The nine suspects arrested were: Rohnert Park residents Ashkan Darakhshan; Frank Manachello; Evelina Taylor; Genaro Azeitia; and Santa Rosa residents Efrain Martin; Brok Frymire; Mario Zamaro; Juan Zamaro; and Oscar Obispo. Recendez, also implicated in the operation, was already in custody at the Sonoma County Jail on unrelated charges.
