Double homicide under investigation

At 4:20 a.m., the Fairfield Police Department received a call that about six gunshots were heard in the 1400 block of Utah Street. At 4:22 a.m., dispatch received another call that someone who had been shot was in front of the NorthBay Medical Center emergency room in Fairfield.

Officers responded to both locations.

Officers located one person in the area of Utah and Second streets. He was pronounced dead there. The second victim died at the emergency room.

One victim was 18 and the other was 20. They were both Fairfield residents.

It appears that both victims were shot in the same area. The shooting did not appear to be random, according to police.

There is a reward of up to $1,000 leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects in this case.
