Whale watchers got a rare treat on Wednesday off the coast of San Francisco, when a pod of more than 10 killer whales were spotted by passengers on a San Francisco Whale Tours boat between the Golden Gate Bridge and the Farallon Islands.

A marine biologist on the boat says it's relatively rare to see orcas this far south, especially in such large numbers. He said the whales were exhibiting classic hunting behavior by forming a line and zigzagging through the water.
