Construction begins on America's Cup Village

SAN FRANCISCO

Mayor Ed Lee will be on hand along with city officials and four-time America's Cup winner Sir Russell Coutts. There will be a ceremonial signing of an agreement to bring the 34th cup race to San Francisco in 2013. The America's cup will be on display.

The first race took place in 1851 making it the oldest trophy in international sport.

Pier 27 will be the heart of the spectator village for the race.
