August 9, 2012 5:45:12 AM PDT
PG&E crews are working to restore power to 59 people in an east Oakland neighborhood. The outage had knocked out power to over 600.

Shortly after 3 a.m., the driver of a black SUV hit a power pole and then crashed into a fire hydrant - causing a big mess at 81st Avenue and D Street. There are 668 PG&E customers without electricity, the SUV driver fled the scene. There is no word yet on when crews will be able to restore power, but we're told it could take hours.
