San Bruno construction resumes after gas leak scare

SAN BRUNO, Calif.

It happened at Earl Avenue and Glenview Drive on August 2. That's the same intersection where 8 people died and 38 homes were destroyed in 2010.

PG&E says the gas line was clearly marked, but Shaw Construction, the contractor hired by the city to install new water lines began digging with a backhoe instead of by hand as recommended.

The company has apologized and agreed to new oversight measures, including daily safety meetings.
