Flood watch for Santa Cruz

A flood watch is in effect until Saturday for the southern coast of the Bay Area from Santa Cruz south past Monterey, according to the National Weather Service.

The areas around the Santa Cruz mountains, Monterey Bay, Salinas, Hollister, Carmel, Big Sur and Los Padres National Forest.

The flood watch is expected to remain in place until about 4 a.m. Saturday.
