The strong winds caused thousands of power outages and a few traffic problems across the Bay Area this morning.

More than 7,500 customers were without power on the Peninsula. And there are more than 2,000 outages reported in the South Bay. Just a handful of outages were reported in the East Bay, North Bay and San Francisco.

The winds have also blown down powerlines in the Santa Cruz Mountains, forcing the closure of part of Highway 9.
