Officials are investigating whether a fight near a tennis court in Lucchesi Park in Petaluma on Monday involving a knife and a baseball bat was gang-related, police said today.

Officers responded to the park's tennis court area at about 5 p.m. where multiple citizens had reported a fight involving weapons, according to officials.

Officers determined three Hispanic men had started a fight with two victims, police said. One suspect had a knife and another had a baseball bat, according to officials.

The victims escaped unharmed and ran, but the suspects vandalized the victims' vehicle and then chased the victims down in the suspects' vehicle and tried to run them over, police said.

The suspects' vehicle is described as a purple older model Toyota Camry with black rims and tinted windows, according to officials.

One victim sustained a minor injury to his hand, police said.
