Fremont BART service fully restored

Bay Area Rapid Transit officials have fully restored service that was stopped this morning at the Fremont station due to an obstruction on the roadway, transit agency spokesman Linton Johnson said.

Full service to the station returned by 9:21 a.m. after mechanical problems in the area halted service between the Fremont and Union City stations around 7:20 a.m., according to Johnson.

Johnson said trains are still a little backed up and passengers can expect delays of about 10 minutes.

Trains were expected to return to their regular intervals by 9:50 a.m.

The mechanical problems were caused by debris that occurred when boards that cover the transit agency's power system came loose, Johnson said.
