A homeowner came home around 11:30 p.m. to find the victim standing on the porch of his residence in the 1200 block of Hearn Avenue, Sgt. Tim Duke said. A small sword with a 7-inch blade was still protruding from the middle of the victim's back adjacent to his spine, Duke said.
The victim was stabilized and taken to a local hospital where the sword was removed and the victim was admitted for treatment, Duke said.
Salvador Solorio Santos, 40, of Santa Rosa, was identified as the stabbing suspect, Duke said. Investigators determined he might be in the Fresno area and traveled there to search for him with Fresno police, Duke said.
Santos is still at large and a no-bail attempted murder warrant has been issued for his arrest, Duke said.
