The /*De Lauer's Bookstore*/ in Oakland is "not" going to close after all.
On Wednesday evening, the owners called ABC7 News and said they've now secured some "private funding" through Oakland community leaders to keep the famous old newsstand and bookstore open for the foreseeable future.
Many of the shelves were nearly bare, in anticipation of Thursday's scheduled closing, so the first order of business will be to re-stock.
