2.6 earthquake strikes near Danville

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.6 struck at about 12:15 a.m. today in Contra Costa County.

According to the USGS, the earthquake had a depth of 10 miles and was centered 1 mile northwest of Danville and 10 miles south of Concord.
