Southbound U.S. Highway 101 in Marin City has reopened following a lane closure prompted by a small brush fire.

The California Highway Patrol received word of a fire just north of Rodeo Avenue at 12:35 p.m.

A Marin County fire dispatcher said shortly before 2 p.m. that the fire had been extinguished and that less than an acre had burned.

Two lanes were closed while crews fought the small blaze, but the roadway was cleared at 2:01 p.m.
