Oakland prepares for rainy season

OAKLAND, CA

Residents have been able to pick up sandbags from local fire departments since Friday. For the last few weeks, the Oakland Public Works Agency has been working to remove debris from storm drains and has deployed extra maintenance crews to help with storm-related issues.

Residents can also prepare for the rainy season by checking and cleaning private drains, placing leaves and green trimmings in their Green Carts for weekly recycling, keeping natural waterways such as creeks free of obstructions and calling the public works agency to report any flooding problems at (510) 615-5566.
