United Airlines reports that 7 passengers aboard United Airlines flight 886 from Osaka, Japan, to San Francisco, suffered injuries because of turbulence Tuesday morning.

They were flying in a Boeing 747 carrying 270 passengers and 15 crew members.

Flight 886 was on a 12-hour flight when it encountered the turbulence somewhere over the Pacific Ocean.

An ambulance met the airplane when it reached the ground, but United Airlines spokeswoman Megan McCarthy says the injuries were "nothing severe, none serious."
