A child care center at Cooper Elementary School was locked down for nearly an hour this morning because of a police pursuit involving three teens suspected of driving a stolen car, Vallejo City Unified School District spokesman Jason Hodge said.

The lockdown at the school, located at 612 Del Mar Ave., started around 10 a.m. and ended before 11 a.m., Hodge said.

Eleven children in grades K-4 and three adults were in a room at the child care center when the incident occurred, Hodge said. The elementary school itself is closed this week for Thanksgiving.

Hodge said police arrested two male teens in a bathroom on campus and a third teen in a garage at a home across the street.

Hodge said he believes the suspects are juveniles.
