Richmond said the incident is still under investigation, but based
on eyewitness statements the preliminary indication is that that the victim
was lying on the tracks and the death was intentional.
She said at this point investigators haven't determined if the
male was an adult or a minor.
Richmond said the incident has delayed service on the Capital
Corridor line.
She said Union Pacific is working with the Hayward Police
Department to investigate the incident because it occurred on tracks owned by
Union Pacific.
