Jury selection begins for tree sitter

BERKELEY, CA

Twenty-year-old Armando Resendez is charged with misdemeanor trespassing and contempt of court.

Resendez and other activists were trying to save an oak grove that school officials said was in the way of a new athletic facility.

It was the longest urban tree-sit in history - lasting almost two years, but in September an appeals court ruled that the university had the right to remove the activists.
