Muni to approve traffic camera funding

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency is now expected to approve a plan to use cameras to improve the backup on San Francisco streets.

Muni will approve funding to install the cameras at 11 locations around the city.

The cameras will allow the agency to monitor traffic conditions in real time and adjust traffic lights accordingly.

The project has a dual purpose -- it is meant to help improve Muni's on-time performance and is also expected to reduce delays for all drivers.
