DUI lock would prevent repeat drunk drivers

SAN FRANCISCO

If the assembly bill is passed, first time or repeat DUI offenders in four selected California counties would be required to have an electronic breath test device installed in their vehicle.

If drivers blow above a .08, the car simply will not start.

The bill's authors say the four test counties would be chosen based in part on the number of DUI deaths it reports a year.
