San Jose police Wednesday are investigating a Tuesday night collision that killed a 74-year-old pedestrian.

San Jose resident Thalia Hsiung was walking west across Lundy Avenue at Rosebriar Way in a crosswalk around 6:20 p.m. when the collision occurred, police said.

Anita Jaimsonblanks, a 62-year-old San Jose resident, was driving a 2000 Mercury Sable south on Lundy Avenue when she struck Hsiung.

Hsiung was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died.

Investigators do not believe alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in the crash, police Officer Jermaine Thomas said.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Kevin Cassidy at (408) 277-4654 or Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-STOP.
