Cleanup volunteers wanted in Antioch

The Antioch Police Department and several community groups will host a monthly neighborhood cleanup Saturday morning.

The city's Neighborhood Cleanup Program is a collective community effort that involves United Citizens for Better Neighborhoods, community volunteers, the Police Department's Crime Prevention Commission, the Neighborhood Watch Program and the city's development and neighborhood improvement services and public works departments.

Volunteers should meet at 9 a.m. at Contra Loma Park at 1600 Mahogany Way in Antioch. Equipment needed for the cleanup will be provided.

Weather permitting, the city plans to host neighborhood cleanups on the first Saturday of every month at different locations throughout the city.
