Coast Guard searches for man in Richmond

The U.S. Coast Guard is responding to the Richmond Marina tonight on reports of a man who fell into the water, Lt. Junior Grade Christina Jones said.

Jones said a person reported seeing a man fall into the water as he tried to transfer from a smaller dinghy to a larger boat at about 9:10 p.m. The Coast Guard was notified of the incident by the Richmond Fire Department.

A Coast Guard boat and helicopter have responded to the area to search for the man, Jones said.

Richmond police and fire crews are also assisting in the rescue effort.
