Calif. gets big chunk of stimulus money

The White House points out that California has already received a healthy share of federal stimulus money.

In the 30 days since the stimulus bill was signed, California's received:

  • $8.6 billion for federal education programs.
  • $2.6 billion for highway projects.
  • $2 billion for low-income medical assistance.
  • $1.1 billion for housing.
  • $1 billion for mass transit.
