Man dies after crashing into tree

A Fairfield man died from critical injuries Friday after police say he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree.

Officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision at about 6:45 p.m. on a northbound lane of Paradise Valley Road, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

Preliminary reports indicate that the 50-year-old driver had lost control of his white Ford Taurus, and crashed into a tree.

Emergency responders took the victim to Northbay Medical Center where he succumbed to fatal injuries.

The Fairfield police Traffic Unit are conducting an investigation, and encourages anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact investigators at (707) 428-7524.
