Port of Oakland bans "dirty fuel"

It should get a little easier to breathe around the Port of Oakland, after a ban on dirty diesel fuel goes into effect next January.

The port commission voted to ban trucks that burn so called "dirty fuel". That includes trucks built before 1994, or truck models between 1994 and 2006 that are not equipped with soot filters.

The Port of Los Angeles says similar measures there have improved air quality by more than 25 percent.
