Recipe: Heirloom Tomato Salad with Basil
- 3 pounds assorted heirloom tomatoes
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 small bunch basil leaves, chopped
- Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper
Cut tomatoes into wedges and toss together in a serving dish. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar on top; garnish with basil. Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.

Join us for a summer evening on the farm, to celebrate heirlooms, the art of picnicking and live music. Bring a picnic, a blanket and your ears and spend the evening enjoying the Capay heat and three local bands. Kick off the night with an heirloom tomato tasting of over ten different varieties with Farmer Thaddeus Barsotti. Prepared foods by Chef Jaymes Luu will be available for purchase, including seasonal sandwiches and fruit popsicles. Beer and local wines will also be available for purchase at the event. Farm Fresh To You will provide complimentary heirloom tomatoes to accompany your picnic. Tickets: $15 in advance, $20 at the door, Under 12 - Free Limited camping spaces available for $30 per site (one car/campsite)
