Dallas-based American Airlines and Chicago-based United Airlines are adding $10 surcharges to most of their fares for travel on three busy days around Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.

The surcharges are for travel on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, November 29, as well as January 2 and 3.

Those are three of the biggest travel days of the year.
