This past Saturday morning, investigators say Nikolai and his mother got into an argument at a home in Menlo Park.
They say he spit in his mother's face, threw a metal doorknob at her during an argument, and smashed picture frames and vases.
Nikolai was released from jail Saturday night after posting a $50,000 bail.
His parents divorced in 1994.
