Owners, contractors to meet over Pacifica cliff

Owners of an evacuated apartment building that sits atop a crumbling Pacifica cliff may be asked to make some very expensive decisions when they meet with a contractor Wednesday.

Emergency work at the base of the cliff is now nearly complete, with crews placing hundreds of boulders there to prevent further erosion. Workers will now focus on the upper part of the cliff.

Owners of the 12-unit apartment building may decide whether to move it, or leave it where it is and insert metal support rods into the cliff.
