Living together may hurt marriage

A new study suggests living together before getting married makes a successful marriage less likely.

The National Center for Health Statistics found the chances of a marriage lasting 10 years went down by six percentage points, if the couple first cohabitated.

However, marriages did have a better chance of lasting if both partners were college graduates, both waited until their 27th birthday before getting married, and they waited at least eight months before having a baby.
